Upcoming launches

EUMETSAT is in the process of upgrading its geostationary Meteosat and polar-orbiting Metop weather satellite series. Over the coming years, many new Meteosat Third Generation imaging and sounding satellites and Metop Second Generation satellites will be launched and bring in a new era in weather and climate monitoring in Europe, and beyond. 

Over the same period there will also be launches of additional Copernicus satellites including ocean-monitoring Sentinel-3 and -6 satellites and new Sentinel-4 and -5 atmospheric monitoring missions, which are onboard the MTG and Metop-SG satellites respectively.
