EUMETSAT is holding a webinar on Earth observations for marine applications in Africa on 2 December 2021
This webinar will explain how both EUMETSAT and EU Copernicus Earth observation satellites play a key role in implementing the African Blue Economy strategy.
Jointly organised by EUMETSAT and the GMES & Africa programme, the webinar will take place on 2 December from 09:00 – 11:00 UTC.

A few days ahead the 2nd GMES&Africa Forum, taking place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, African experts will showcase some concrete serves using Earth observation in Africa.
In this webinar, we will explain how both EUMETSAT and EU Copernicus Earth observation satellites can play a key role in implementing the African Blue Economy strategy. You will learn about existing Earth observation-based marine services in Africa as well as how satellite are used to deliver these services and their actual impact..
Concrete applications will underline the benefits brought about by Earth observation satellite data and you will be able to share your experiences in discussions with peers.
This webinar will consist of one session, on Thursday, 2 December from 9:00 – 11:00 UTC and will discuss various case studies highlighting how meterological satellite data is already used in countries throughout the African continent.
