ROMEX is a collaborative effort aiming to inform the future plans of the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS) and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS) regarding the provision of radio occultation (RO) data to users.
The goal of the modelling experiment is to determine the benefits of increasing the number of RO observations through additional measurements that are not currently available to weather centres in real time.
The findings of the workshop will provide input to the strategies for future RO missions, along with helping the RO community optimise the use of observations for various applications. The event will also provide a platform for discussions focused on data processing, experimental design and numerical weather prediction (NWP) impact studies.
This event is the continuation of the first workshop held in February 2024, where the initial results of ROMEX activities were discussed. In this second part, the findings will be completed, allowing for the formulation of a final report.
Join the radio occultation community at the ROMEX workshop and gain insight into the future of RO-derived weather prediction and climate research. For more information, visit the event’s official page.
