The International Weather and Climate Forum will take place in Nice, France from 6-8 June 2025. It will take place just before the United Nations Conference on the Oceans (UNOC) and thus will also place an emphasis on ocean monitoring.

The event brings together weather presenters from all around the world committed to climate action. As the public becomes increasingly interested in the issues surrounding global warming, international weather presenters play an essential role in communicating. This event provides a forum for them as well as journalists and representatives of international organisations in the fields of weather, climate, environment and Earth observation fields. Participants will share knowledge and discuss strategies for communicating effectively on climate change at an international level, both to viewers and to policy makers.

The event aims to:

  • encourage the exchange of “good practices” between weather presenters from different countries and continents regarding climate change communication,
  • encourage dialogue and create links between weather presenters, climate experts and international organisations,
  • reinforce the weather presenters’ role in the eyes of the public in terms of communication

This event is hosted by EUMETSAT at the Nice harbourside Congress Center and is organised jointly by EUMETSAT and the International Weather and Climate Forum.

Participation is by invitation only. It is an in-person event, although virtual participation will also be possible. The event will include simultaneous translation between French and English.

We will publish the final programme here once it becomes available. To find out more and see the preliminary agenda, visit the event website here.
