The Meteosat weather satellites are in geostationary orbit 36,000km above the Earth, from where they provide imagery for the early detection of fast-developing severe weather, weather forecasting and climate monitoring.

A livestream from these satellites is available on our Earthview page.

The images are from the SEVIRI instruments onboard the Meteosat-10 and Meteosat-9 satellites.

EUMETSAT operates three satellites from the Meteosat Second Generation, Meteosat-9, -10 and -11 and one Meteosat Third Generation satellite, MTG-I1.
