Hurricane Rafael brought very strong winds (>185 kmh) and heavy rainfall as it passed over Cuba. The storm caused extensive disruption damaging homes and causing a nationwide blackout, which affected millions of people.

Hurricane Rafael is the seventeenth named storm and fifth major hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season.

This image was captured by the OLCI instrument on one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites on 5 November 2024.
