We chose the image to highlight the 16th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa (16-20 September 2024) which is taking place in Cotonou, Benin, and is co-organised by EUMETSAT and Meteo Benin

The forum brings together weather & climate experts from across Africa to focus on using new satellite data to improve early warnings for severe weather events, to help protect lives and infrastructure.

EUMETSAT’s Meteosat satellites are a key part of the global ring of geostationary weather satellites and observe the Earth over Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean. See their current view from our Earth view stream.
