This week’s image of the week is of Tropical Cyclone Ialy in the Indian Ocean, and it was captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellite.

Tropical Cyclone Ialy brought rain, high winds and stormy conditions to coastal areas of Kenya on 22 May 2024.

The cyclone was also tracked by EUMETSAT’s geostationary weather satellite, Meteosat-9. A livestream from this satellite is available on our Earthview page.

This image was captured by the OLCI instrument on one of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellites on 19 May 2024.
