This regional event will bring together the Heads of the Meteorological and Hydrological Services of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, to discuss the use of meteorological data for the safeguarding of communities in the region.

The main goal of this year’s Information Day is to update the participants on the current status of EUMETSAT’s programmes, including the organisation’s contribution to the European Union’s Copernicus programme. The representatives will also be invited to provide feedback on the use of meteorological satellite data in their regions.

The event will focus on the access to and use of weather observations delivered by the new Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellite, in particular to support the United Nation’s Early Warning for All initiative – providing timely warning systems to ensure that communities are protected from hazardous weather events.
